Marmaduke Explained is, by far, my most favorite web comic on the internetz. It’s dry. It’s sarcastic. It’s absurd. It’s unassumingly brilliant. It’s nothing less than a physical manifestation of my inner soul on the internet.
Here’s the latest strip:
Joe Mathlete’s Explanation: Marmaduke creator Brad Anderson is using today’s comic strip to rail against the USPS’s self-adhesive stamps (in use since 1989), an advancement in postal technology that many see as a hygienic labor saving device but others regard as not only an unnecessary and “newfangled” gilding of the lily but a sign that we are moving inexorably away from the simple, wholesome pleasures of an idyllic past defined by licking stamps, and baseball and holding hands and American flags, and how come people don’t tip their hats and smile when you pass them on the street nowadays, and what’s up with this so-called “rap music,” it’s not real music anyway, it’s just noise for goodness sakes!
