I’ve been a fan of both Nick Cave’s screenwriting (for such films as The Proposition and Lawless) and his film scores (for The Proposition and The Assassination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford) but aside from a great Marc Maron WTF Podcast interview, I’d never really delved into the bulk of Cave‘s band history.
But this awesome, goosebump-inducing trailer for his upcoming film, 20,000 Days On Earth, shows us a day in the life of the lead singer of the Bad Seeds through a mashup of documentary and drama elements, and ignited my interest. The film, directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, features Kylie Minogue, Ray Winstone and Cave‘s longtime collaborator Warren Ellis. It won directing and editing awards at the Sundance Film Festival and is definitely a film I’ll be checking out when it hits theaters. I hope maybe you’ll give it a try, as well. Enjoy!
