Calvary: Official Trailer

Here’s the trailer for director John Michael McDonagh‘s new film, Calvary, starring Brendan Gleeson. It looks pretty fan-fucking-tastic and it’s even remotely as good as as McDonagh‘s previous film, one of my all-time favorites, The Guard, it will most definitely be a badass cinematic event. See how the luck of the Irish priest pans out when film hits theaters August 1st. Until then, enjoy!

Calvary – Official Trailer:

Calvary’s Father James (Brendan Gleeson) is a good priest who is faced with sinister and troubling circumstances brought about by a mysterious member of his parish. Although he continues to comfort his own fragile daughter (Kely Reilly) and reach out to help members of his church with their various scurrilous moral—and often comic—problems, he feels sinister forces closing in, and begins to wonder if he will have the courage to face his own personal Calvary.

Short Film Saturdays: Six Shooter

Every Saturday from now till I die or get bored, I’ll be featuring a short film for your viewing pleasure. While John Michael McDonagh is my favorite of the two McDonagh directing brothers, this week’s short film from Martin McDonagh is a pretty great production. Although, considering John used a lot of the actors from it, including Brendan Gleeson and David Wilmot, in his hilariously epic feature film, The Guard, it’s probably no coincidence that I love it so much. Enjoy!

Six Shooter (full movie):

A black and bloody Irish comedy about a sad train journey where an older man, whose wife has died that morning, encounters a strange and possibly psychotic young oddball.
