This Week In Entertainment? with Brand Rackley: Episode 8

Friends! Check out the newest episode of my new show, This Week In Entertainment? with Brand Rackley. In this show I’ll give my favorite stories in the world of film and TV, but from the point of view of somebody who’s only read entertainment news headlines from Facebook and Twitter. This week I talk news on Neil Patrick Harris, Fury, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Birdman! It was a major struggle for me to overcome a self-imposed hiatus and put this together this week, but I tried my damnedest to make it funny. I hope I succeeded and I hope you’re still trying your damnedest to stick with me and if you are, I really hope you’re liking them. Enjoy?

X-Men Days Of Future Past – The Bent Bullet: JFK & The Mutant Conspiracy

Check out the latest installment of viral marketing for Bryan Singer‘s X-Men Days of Future Past, The Bent Bullet. This new piece of creative advertising is a conspiracy that claims that Magneto caused the odd tradjectary of the bullet from the infamous “Magic Bullet Theory” which was said to be the cause of wounds suffered to both Texas Governor John Connally‘s and President John F. Kennedy‘s. It’s a cool, though eerie, piece of historical fiction on par with The Comedian‘s claim to be the gunmen who killed Kennedy in Allen Moore‘s masterpiece, Watchmen. Enjoy!

The Bent Bullet: JFK and the Mutant Conspiracy | X-Men:

Half a century ago, Magneto was implicated in the mutant plot to assassinate President John F. Kennedy. The events of that fateful day in November have been a point of contention between humans and the mutants ever since.

After years of incarceration, do you think Magneto is guilty or innocent? Tell us why in the comments.

X-Men Days Of Future Past – “Trask Industries: Your Future” Viral Video

This first piece of viral marketing for X-Men Days of Future Past is a commercial for Trask Industries, a high-tech company focused in part on national security. The head of the company is Bolivar Trask, played by Peter Dinklage. The commercial features mutant-hunting Sentinel robots and they’re very much on the badass creepy-looking robot side. Enjoy.

Entertainment Weekly – Parks and Recreation – Patton Oswalt’s Star Wars Filibuster Movie Poster

Yesterday I posted Patton Oswalt’s epic improvised Star Wars filibuster which will be featured in the 2nd episode of a double billing of Parks and Recreation this evening. Well, it turns out the awesome folks over at Entertainment Weekly made a poster illustrating Oswalt’s proposed Star Wars Episode 7 from the Parks and Rec filibuster. And let me just say I think the badassness of it speaks for itself. Thanks to Pete Vonder Haar for bringing it to my attention. Enjoy.

Parks and Recreation – Patton Oswalt’s Star Wars Filibuster

Get excited everybody. Parks and Rec will feature two episodes tomorrow night. In the meantime, fan the flames of your anticipatory comedy fire and check out this clip of Patton Oswalt‘s cameo from tomorrow’s second episode. Oswalt plays an insane Pawnee resident who decides to filibuster a city council meeting. Oswalt’s filibuster was apparently entirely improvised and is an incredible mash-up of Star Wars, The Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men and Clash of the Titans. Ladies and Gentleman, behold what is quite possibly the most badass comedic improvisation of all time. Enjoy.
